Dinner Meeting:
Thursday, November 15th
What Trainers Need to Know About Copyright Law
Presented by:
Eric Walusis
Media Consultant
Join us for our last meeting of 2007!
Come say goodbye to Matt Becker as he becomes “past” president, and hello to Jackie Smith as she
will take over the helm as President for 2008!
Also, voting will take place for board members for 2008. You will be notified as to who is nominated.
Please take the time to cast your vote and get involved.
Our speaker for the evening will be Eric Walusis. Eric is a media production consultant, advising
organizations and companies regarding their use of video production and electronic media. Eric will
be speaking to us on the topic of copyright. As trainers it is important to know which materials
we are using to enhance our training are copyrighted and can we use it?
Eric will be discussing the following:
- The most common ways copyrights are violated
- Discuss what we can use in training in terms of video, commercials, images, TV show etc.
- Demonstrate what we cannot use
- Give information on how we can get permission to use copyright material
- Identify potential consequences to using copyrighted material
Bring in any examples of what you are using for training and Eric can tell you if you are
compliant or not.
